BarnArts is excited to welcome
THE VILLALOBOS BROTHERS
for our 2nd Global Music Residency of 2023!

The Grammy-award winning Villalobos Brothers are no strangers to BarnArts and Vermont. Most recently performing outdoors in Barnard in 2019, their high-octane fiddling fuses Mexican folk, jazz, and classical music to bring messages of love, brotherhood, and social justice.

After a week of school workshops complimenting Vermont Reads 2022 pick, The Most Costly Journey, we'll celebrate their residency with a potluck and full-band
(Drummer, Guitar, Bass and 3 brothers) outdoor concert at Barnard Town Hall!

Youth Musicians
Beth Telford has been playing and performing traditional music since the 1980’s. She began by playing New England contra-dance music in southern New England, playing for dances, and at coffeehouses and festivals. She lived for a time in Boise, Idaho to obtain her M.S. in Raptor biology, where she continued to play fiddle and organized dances.

Upon her return to Vermont, she was introduced to the music of legendary Cape Breton fiddler Jerry Holland, who later became her mentor and friend. Beth and Jerry held twice yearly fiddle and dance camps, which she has continued to run since Jerry’s death in 2009. In addition to performing, Beth has taught fiddle to scores of students of all ages.

Some of Beth’s students will be performing before the Villalobos concert at the Barnard Town Hall beginning at 6 pm.
