In the aftermath of a bitter war, Antigone grieves for two lost brothers. King Kreon honors one with a proper burial, but forbids the burial of the other. Despite warnings and threats, unshakable Antigone defies the king's law.
In Anne Carson's vivid, modern translation, Sophokles' tragedy becomes a tale rich with beauty and humor that asks us to reconsider the arbiters of right and wrong.
