BarnArts Presents: Tina Howe's The Art of Dining
Although framed in the context of a high-humor comedy, this production contains depictions of mental health issues, including extreme anxiety, dysfunctional relationships with food/eating disorders, and a discussion of self-harm and suicidal ideation.
The Art of Dining is a front-of-house/back-of-house fine dining romp set in the 1970s! Ellen and Cal have risked everything to open The Golden Carrousel to showcase Ellen's outstanding chef skills and Cal's unending support for his wife's food. Come meet the (happy?) couple along with the food-lover lovers, food-fussy friends, and quirky literary associates that descend on this trendy new French bistro on the same night.
This hilarious comedy will tickle your funny bone and whet your appetite, as it bites into the meaty contribution of food to human connection.
